About us

Challenge College is a modern, 11-18 secondary school situated in the City of Bradford.

We are a learning community that believes in the supreme importance and value of successful learning. Our success is based on the clear understanding that creating a partnership with the school community is the foundation for an excellent school. Last year saw our most successful GCSE results ever which we expect to better again this year.

We have used Critical Skills as part of our teaching and learning strategy since the school was started 8 years ago. It is an integral part of our teaching and helps to ensure our pupils leave school with the skills they need to be successful. Each of our teaching staff and many of our support staff are trained in Critical Skills teaching and their expertise is vital. Critical Skills plays a key part in school life at Challenge. We have a unique Year 7 curriculum written using the principles of Critical Skills to develop pupils into independent learners, giving them the foundation of skills needed to reach their potential through the rest of school. Year 9 pupils need to have their 'Skills passport' signed off before they move to year 10 and Critical Skills 'challenges' are a key part of lessons across the whole school.

Please contact us if you would like to come and visit us to see Critical Skills in action.
